York Regional Police set up mobile command centers in Jewish and Muslim neighborhoods ahead of the one-year anniversary of the October 7th attack that sparked the Israel-Hamas conflict in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, on October 5, 2024. York Regional Police and Toronto Police Services tighten security ahead of the upcoming one-year anniversary of tensions in the Middle East. 350 hate crimes are reported since last year, which is 40 percent more than this time last year, and hate crimes against the Jewish community rise by 69 percent.
