The flag of the so-called ''Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus'' is barely visible on Pentadaktylos mountain behind a mosque minaret in the Turkish side of the city, as seen from the roof of the Town Hall in Nicosia, Cyprus, on February 12, 2024. The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is being guided by the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and Nicosia Mayor, Constantinos Yiorkadjis, to the old city of Nicosia, where the barricades that separate the Greek and Turkish sides of the city, also known as the ''Green Line,'' are visible. Nicosia remains the last divided European capital. The visit of the German President marks the first of its kind since the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960 and the commencement of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Domestic guineafowl, sometimes called pintade, pearl hen, or gleany, is poultry originating from Africa. They are the domesticated form of the helmeted guineafowl (Numida meleagris) and are related to other game birds such as pheasants, turkeys, and partridges. The domestic guinea fowl is a poultry bird that derives its name from the Guinea coast of West Africa where it originated. Guinea fowl production has proven to be commercially viable and is raised in large numbers in Europe and the United States of America where it has been successfully commercialized. In India, these birds are raised as free-range scavenging birds in rural areas. The birds sound an alarm whenever anything unusual occurs on the farm. Some people find it to be an effective tool for protecting the farm and making guinea fowl the farmyard ''watchdogs.'' Keeping guinea fowl is an effective means of pest control. Flocks of guineas kill and eat mice and small rats. They are known for their aggressiveness; sometimes they chase people down indiscriminately -attacking even their owners. A farm owner takes the guineafowl by hand and shows his specialty at Hanspukuria, West Bengal, India on 20/05/2023.
