The PayPal home page is seen on computer screen on Monday, July 20, 2015. PayPal Holdings Inc. became an independent publicly-traded company on the exchange today with the ticker symbol PYPL. PayPal shares shares soared to $42.55 in early trading, up from Friday's close of $38.35. eBay acquired PayPal in 2002 and it was responsible for almost half of the company's revenues.
