The founding of the Heroic Military College arises from the need for a faculty responsible for training military personnel. In 1821, when the Mexican Nation is established with the consummation of Independence, the existence of a permanent Army responsible for protecting and defending the integrity of the national territory is considered essential. According to information from Luis Fernando Molina Londono in the title ''Plundering, deportations and internments: the fate of the Germans during World War II,'' he narrates that the San Carlos Fortress in Perote functions as a detention camp for citizens of the Axis of World War II, who are interned for reasons of national security after Mexico enters the war in May 1942.
