Sister Cheeky of the DC chapter of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, participates in a drag rally and march to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to protest Donald Trump's takeover of the organization, in Washington on March 8, 2025. Hundreds of people attend the event, hosted by a drag artist collective, after Trump cited the Kennedy Center's hosting of drag events as one reason for his hostile takeover. The musical Hamilton recently cancelled its performances at the Center due to Trump's takeover.

The DC chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence participate in the Women's March for reproductive rights, abortion access, and bodily autonomy. This was the flagship event of a nationwide "Women's Wave" protest in hundreds of cities across the United States on October 8, 2022. The Women's March organized the demonstrations in response to the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. JWHO opinion, which overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the federal right to abortion access.
