Thousands attend 'We're staying in EU' demonstration at the Main Square in Krakow, Poland on October 10, 2021. The pro-EU demonstrations were held across the country to show of support for the EU after the nation’s constitutional court ruled this week that the Polish constitution overrides some EU laws. Demonstrator expressed fear that Law and Justice (PiS) ruling party could lead to 'Polexit' or Poland being forced to leave the EU.

On Wednesday the Tribunal was set to rule if EU law has primacy of the Polish constitution. The matter concerns a ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union demanding Poland dismantle a disciplinary chamber which is part of the Supreme Court and is judged by the EU as being a political tool. Today’s hearing will be resumed on September 30 further prolonging one of the most contentious issues between Poland and the EU.
