PiS Senator Marek Pek attends the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II celebrations at Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland, on September 1, 2024. On September 1, 1939, the Third Reich attacks Poland when the school battleship ''Schleswig-Holstein'' begins shelling Westerplatte. Poland is also attacked by the Slovak army allied with the Third Reich. During the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, flowers are laid at the monument to the Soldiers of September 1939 and the ''Krakow'' Army at the Military Cemetery in Krakow.

Together, they honored the memory of the Presidential coupe, who died in Smolensk tragic crash on April 10, 2010, offering prayers on this monthly anniversary of their funeral.
