Authorities from the Gustavo A. Madero borough in Mexico City set a Guinness World Record for a mural measuring over 203 square meters dedicated to the country's World Cup history on April 24, 2026. This event takes place in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup scheduled for June. The initiative is presented by the Guinness World Record Official Attempt, the Continua en Movimiento Cultural Council, the Fundacion Intercultural Libertad Creativa y Objetiva A.C., and the Elena Poniatowska Amor Foundation, contributing to the borough's project. The mural aims to create a new category within the Guinness World Records for its technique, size, and artistic merit.
