Vehicles pass through the damaged Dhulikhel-Khawa section of the Araniko Highway that runs through Kavrepalanchowk District of Nepal on September 23, 2025. The construction of the Dhulikhel-Khawa road section under the Araniko Highway remains uncertain. The road construction project comes to a standstill after the contract with the construction company is terminated due to failure to complete the work within the stipulated and extended deadlines. A contract agreement is signed between the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur, and Gauri Parbati Nirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd on June 3, 2022, for the expansion of the 4.155-kilometre Dhulikhel-Khawa road section, with a deadline of 22 months, which expires on April 1, 2024.

Vehicles navigate through the under-construction Sanga-Dhulikhel road section along the Araniko Highway in Kavrepalanchowk district of Nepal on September 23, 2025. The 16-kilometer-long road is divided into two sections, from Suryabinayak to Sanga and from Sanga to Dhulikhel, and the expansion work is underway accordingly. Currently, 37 percent of the Suryabinayak-Sanga section and 50 percent of the Sanga-Dhulikhel section are completed. Under the project, an agreement is reached for the expansion of the 8.4-km road section from Sanga to Dhulikhel in the first phase at a cost of NRs 4.56 billion and the Suryabinayak-Sanga road section, which starts in the second phase at a cost of NRs 3.889 billion.
