Protesters conclude a play about family separation standing with turquoise-browed motmot and bald eagle puppets, representing their country and the US, respectively, during a march for permanent residency for immigrants with temporary protected status in the US. Protesters are pressuring Congress to include permanent status for TPS holders, Dreamers, temporary workers, and essential workers in the budget reconciliation bill currently underway consideration. This task has taken on greater urgency since the Senate parliamentarian’s recommendation that residency and citizenship be excluded from the bill.
