Protesters risking arrest for voting rights join Rev. Melvin Wilson in prayer at the conclusion of a rally and civil disobedience action at the White House. The League of Women Voters, People for the American Way, Black Voters Matter, and many other organizations hosted the rally to pressure Congress and President Biden to protect voting rights after many states have passed laws to make voting more difficult for minorities. Protesters want to see an end to the filibuster, passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement and For the People Acts, and statehood for Washington, DC.
