Protesters wave a giant Syrian Kurdish Rojava flag as they take part in a demonstration in solidarity with Kurds in northern Syria, at Place de la Republique, central Paris, on January 24, 2026. More than 134,000 people are displaced in northeast Syria, according to the United Nations, after clashes and a fragile ceasefire deal between government troops and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
