Former Odesa Military Commissar Yevhen Borisov attends a court hearing at a district court in Kyiv, Ukraine 25 July 2023, amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Former Odesa military commissar detained the day before in Kyiv amid suspicions of embezzlement and illicit enrichment, involving hundreds of millions of hryvnias. The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) revealed evidence pointing to alleged illegal enrichment of Borysov, with the alleged amount about $4 million, according to local media. In the spring of 2023, information appeared in media that family of the Odesa Military Commissar acquired expensive real estate in Spain during the full-scale invasion.
