Red-eared slider turtles (Trachemys scripta elegans) are in a small pond in Markham, Ontario, Canada, on June 14, 2025. The red-eared slider, or red-eared terrapin, is a subspecies of the pond slider (Trachemys scripta) and is the most commonly traded turtle in the world.
