Kite-shaped signs containing the lines of Refaat Alareer's poem, "If I Must Die," written before he was killed by an Israeli airstrike, adorn a tent at a George Washington University encampment for Palestine , Washington, DC, April 25, 2024. Studets set up the camp in conjunction with other DC-area universities, to stand in solidarity with students across the country who have been arrested while advocating for Palestine. They demand an end to war in Gaza, divestment from companies profiting from Israel’s siege of Gaza, and an end to censorship of Palestinian students and organizations.
