Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discusses work needed to institute measures to protect information integrity, at the United Nations Headquarters on June 24, 2024 in New York City. Secretary Gurterres discussed the current shortcomings of information protection and actions that governments and businesses need to take. Guterres went on to say that advertising companies must control their media algorithms that lead to misinformation, sexual harassment and hate speech on social media all the while protecting journalists.

Sadly, these practices persist as cases often go unpunished. Despite investigations, legal action is limited due to complex circumstances. This ongoing situation undermines both tourists' trust and the integrity of these businesses.
