Toulouse, France, on January 31st, 2023, more than 60,000 people (80,000 for the unions) are taking to the streets for the second time in two weeks to protest against the planned reform of pension and retirement age. France's labour unions have made a joint call for a new day of major strike action and protests across France against plans by President Emmanuel Macron's government to reform the pension system and raise the retirement age to 64 from 62, a move opinion polls show is opposed by a vast majority (93%) of workers already facing a cost-of-living crisis. Nearly all sectors unions are calling for this strike and protest: mining and energy, health, schooling sector, transportation, truck drivers, refining workers, bank workers, etc. The retirement age would be raised to 64 years (for 43 years of continued work) and the pensions would be lower, especially for women, 'short careers' and low wages people. The COR (Counsel of Pension Guidance), which depends on the Prime Minister's Office directly, said in its latest report on September 2022 that it sees no need to reform the pension system as its share in the French GDP will remain steady at least until 2070. A woman is holding a placard reading '+2 years, +2°C, You really want to kill us!'

A man has put for €20 (11.77 liters) of gasoline in his car, he explained he begins to commute with public transports due to the high price of fuel. The French government prepares to announce a plan to help consumers to pay their bill of fuel as energy prices skyrocketed after the Covid-19 pandemic. The price of fuel is nearly an all time high. The Macron's government want to subsidy the use of fossil fuels to help people. They fear a resumtion of the Gilets Jaunes protests which began nearly three years ago about the price of gasoline as the french campaign for presidential election will really begin in the next months. Harry Dalle (73) made a pilgrimage to his younger brother's grave during Christmas at Covid-19 grave yard in the Pondok Rangon public cemetary complex, East Jakarta, on December 25, 2020. As a survivor, Harry Dalle really felt how the Covid-19 that attacked him made him unable to care for his younger brother, Marthen Dalle, who was battling spinal cancer. The 15-day isolation period in the hospital left his younger brother, Marthen, who is the only family he lives with, neglected until his condition continued to deteriorate. And when Harry was tested negative for Covid-19, and returned home, he found his younger brother's condition which was very worrying, until Marthen died a few days later at 67, on September. The sadness and loss that Harry felt was even more pronounced when he had to spend Christmas alone. "The pandemic (Covid-19) has taken the person I really love, if I wasn't infected, I didn't have to be isolated, so I could continue to take better care of my brother." Harry said as he made a pilgrimage to Marthen's grave at Christmas.
