Ret. US Army Colonel Paris Davis receives a standing ovation from President Joe Biden and those attending the ceremony awarding him the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions in the Vietnam War. Davis repeatedly risked his life to rescue wounded soldiers in the course of a 19-hour battle in June, 1965, in which he himself was wounded numerous times. Twice nominated for the award in the years immediately following, the paperwork was lost both times, resulting in a 57-year delay between his actions and the award.
