Victor Fadlun, the President of the Jewish Community of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, the Mayor of Rome, Riccardo Di Segni, the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Rome, and Marco Impagliazzo, the President of the Community of Sant'Egidio, are attending the 80th anniversary remembrance of the Rome Ghetto raid on October 16, 1943. This event is taking place in Rome, Italy, on October 16, 2023. During the original raid, 1,259 members of the Jewish community, including 363 men, 689 women, and 207 children, were captured by the Gestapo. Out of these, 1,023 were deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. The official Remembrance March is being organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio and the Jewish Community of Rome, along with Roma Capitale.

The Chief Rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni takes part at the sit in by the Jewish Community of Rome in the vicinity of the French Embassy in Rome, Italy on April 25, 2021 against the recent decision by France's highest court that the murderer of Sarah Halimi was not criminally responsible, in Lyon, south-central France. Halimi, a 65-year-old Orthodox Jewish woman, died in 2017 after being pushed out the window of her Paris flat by neighbour Kobili Traore, 27, who shouted ''Allahu Akbar'' (''God is great'' in Arabic). Traore, a heavy cannabis smoker, has been in psychiatric care since Halimi's death and remains there after his sentencing.
