Faithful throw rose petals from the balcony as the statue of the Holy Doctors passes by during the Holy Doctors procession in Bitonto, Italy, on October 19, 2025. The feast dedicated to the Holy Doctors is celebrated in Bitonto every year on the third Sunday of October since 1733. On this occasion, the parish priest Don Gaetano Coviello welcomes the numerous pilgrims and citizens who arrive at the sanctuary to venerate Saints Cosmas and Damian. Many faithful, coming from all over southern Italy, travel to the city to ask the saints for favors or to thank them for graces received, as they are recognized as miracle workers.

Indian authorities allow the Muharram procession through its traditional route for the third consecutive year after over three decades. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump says on Friday it will probably be known in 24 hours whether the Palestinian militant group Hamas agrees to accept what he calls a ''final proposal'' for an Israel-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza.
