Based on the World Bank's report in October 2019, it stated that the total cost lost due to traffic congestion for 28 metro areas in Indonesia was USD 4 billion per year or around Rp56.7 trillion, an amount equivalent to 0.5 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) national. And specifically in Jakarta, the total loss due to traffic congestion reached USD 2.6 billion or around Rp36.8 trillion.
