Calcutta Tram Users Association, school and college students organized a silent protest for preservation of only pollution free vehicle, older rolling stocks including the wooden bodied tram cars and scrapping of Kolkata's Heritage trams which owns the legacy of tramways in Calcutta. The CTUA demands that the few remaining wooden bodied trams to be kept safely under cover until the creation of a Tram Museum. According to the members the tram is a silently witness to many social, political and cultural events. A few wooden trams made in the 1940's are still in various depots in the city. But due to lack of maintenance, they are getting damaged. On 27th September 2020 in Kolkata, India.
