Claire Legras, Chief of Staff at the Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs, arrives for a meeting with France's Prime Minister, which gathers representatives from several political parties and security institutions, at the Matignon Hotel in Paris, France, on June 11, 2026. The meeting focuses on safeguarding democratic debates against foreign interference following the opening of a probe by Paris prosecutors in May to investigate potential interference by an Israeli company in local French elections. The investigation was initiated after several far-left candidates alleged they were targeted by disinformation campaigns. France's government body responsible for combatting online disinformation, Viginum, reported observing a system of artificial or automated dissemination spreading inaccurate or misleading content.
