Rajya Sabha is the upper house of the Indian bicameral parliament, Sansad, and its members are elected every six years by the legislators. The Rajya Sabha elections are the first such polls held in Jammu and Kashmir following the August 5, 2025, abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A of the Indian constitution that accords a semi-autonomous character to Jammu and Kashmir. They are preparing to compete in the presidential election of Mexico in 2024, and should she win, they will be part of her administration. Among the members of Claudia Sheinbaum's team are Adan Augusto Lopez Hernandez, the former Secretary of the Interior in President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's government; Gerardo Fernandez Norona, a federal deputy of the Labor Party; Tatiana Clouthier Carrillo, the former Secretary of Economy and coordinator of the 2018 presidential campaign; Citlalli Hernandez, the alliance coordinator for coalitions and single candidacies; Renata Turrent, the liaison coordinator with academic sectors; and Regina Orozco, the coordinator of liaison with the cultural community, along with others in various positions and roles.
