Tamil Hindu devotees offer prayers during the 10th day of the annual festival at the Chulipuram Pathirakali Thevasthanam in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. During this festival the idols of the Hindu deities are carried around the temple in a decorative flower covered palanquin as prayers are recited by Tamil Hindu priests.

Tamil Hindu devotee offers prayers at the Sri Muthumariamman Thevasthanam (Sri Muthumariamman Hindu Temple) in Matale, Sri Lanka. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Sri Muthumariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility. The Temple dates was built in the year 1874. One of the most impressive features of this temple is the 55 m (180 ft) high Gopuram (Raja Koburum), a large decorated tower located above the main northern gateway (Vadakku Veli Veedi) to the temple. The Raja Koburum is one of the tallest Gopurams in Sri Lanka and is adorned with 1008 statues of Hindu deities.
