Tamil Hindu devotees wait for prayers to begin during the 12th night of the Nallur Festival at the Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil (Nallur Temple) in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Nallur temple is the most significant and socially important institution for Sri Lankan Hindu Tamils. The present temple was constructed in the year 1734 A.D. and is physically the largest Hindu Temple Complex in Sri Lanka.
