December 1st, The Hague. From Tuesday 1 December, Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands) will face Shell in court. The plaintiffs want Shell to take a more sustainable course. The full legal costs of €500,000 are covered by donations. An activist from XR is holding a flag while walking during the climate march, in Utrecht, Netherlands, on February 29th, 2020. Under the motto: On the eye of the storm, hundreds of climate activists walked to the City Hall. There they presented their five demands: keep people informed, protect the Amelisweerd forest area, make the city center car-free and public transport free, plant 10,000 trees and encourage biodiversity, and guarantee truly sustainable energy.
