Banners protest the destruction of a Buddhist monastery and the forced resettlement of Tibetans by the Chinese to build a dam along the Drichu River. The banners hang in the Bhutia Bazaar (Tibetan Market) in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India, on April 19, 2024. The Tibetan Market is located by Naini Lake and is close to the Sikh Gurudwara and Naini Devi temple. The market is a well-known shopping destination for tourists and local people and gains recognition for the sale of unique Tibetan products that reflect the culture and traditions of the Tibetan people. Traditional Tibetan food such as thupka and momos is also available in the market.
