Cyclone Remal is predicted to bring heavy rains and precipitation to Bangladesh and the adjoining regions of West Bengal and Odisha, as reported by the IMD. Additionally, a red alert has been issued by the IMD for the coastal districts of South and North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, where extremely heavy rain is expected in some areas. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for the districts of Kolkata, Howrah, Nadia, and Purba Medinipur for May 26 and 27. In Tehatta, Nadia, West Bengal, sudden dark clouds hovered ahead of the landfall of Cyclone Remal on May 25, 2024.
