Tunisians await the departure of vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla moored at the port of Bizerte in northern Tunisia on September 13, 2025, as they show solidarity with Palestinians of the Gaza Strip. The ships of the flotilla are expected to depart for Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli siege. The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international solidarity mission that brings together activists, politicians, humanitarian groups, and public figures from more than 44 countries to challenge Israel's blockade of Gaza amid ongoing attacks on the enclave. Days earlier, the Flotilla's main ships, 'Family' and 'Alma', respectively sailing under the Portuguese and the UK flags, are hit by a drone strike in Tunisian waters at the port of Sidi Bou Said, according to the crew.
