On 7 July, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine began consideration of the case upon the constitutional petition of 51 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language".The petitioners claim that the disputed Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” of April 25, 2019 № 2704 – VIII is discriminatory against “Russian-speaking citizens” and certain linguistic minorities and indigenous peoples, the website of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine informed.
