The National Conference (NC) and Congress finalize their alliance for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the first since the erstwhile state is bifurcated into two Union Territories in 2019. According to the seat-sharing agreement, out of 90 Assembly seats, the NC contests 51 seats while Congress fields candidates in 32 constituencies. The parties reserve one seat each for the Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M) and Panthers Party.
