Nepali Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai, along with other officials, arrive at the VVIP Terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan in Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 23, 2025. It is the first high-level visit from Vietnam since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations about half a century ago. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Dr. Rana is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Vice President Xuan later today. She remains in Nepal until August 25. On August 24, Vice President Yadav and his Vietnamese counterpart hold delegation-level bilateral talks in Kathmandu. During her stay, Vice President Xuan also pays separate courtesy calls on President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The visit carries special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam. Vice President Xuan returns home on August 25.
