Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan (center) arrives at the VVIP Lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 23, 2025, beginning her three-day visit to the Himalayan nation. It is the first high-level visit from Vietnam since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations about half a century ago. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Dr. Rana is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Vice President Xuan later today. She remains in Nepal until August 25. On August 24, Vice President Yadav and his Vietnamese counterpart hold delegation-level bilateral talks in Kathmandu. During her stay, Vice President Xuan also pays separate courtesy calls on President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The visit carries special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam. Vice President Xuan returns home on August 25.
