Sinabung alert was raised to the highest levels of government fear that the growing lava dome could collapse at any moment. Mount Sinabung has erupted intermittently since late 2013. Sixteen people were killed and tens of thousands of people displaced during the early period of intense eruptions last year. Nearly 2,000 people are still living in temporary shelters as a result of the eruption last year.
