On the left side, the back side of the first '1950 One Rupee' coin' Minted by the Republic of India after Independence from British Raj with "Lion Capital, Ashokan Pillar at Sarnath". The Lion Capital of Ashoka is the capital, or head, of a column erected by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka in Sarnath, India, c. 250 BCE. Its crowning features are four life-sized lions set back to back on a drum-shaped abacus. This rare-vintage-Historic coins photo was taken at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 29/07/2023.
