Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana announced that the government of President Prabowo Subianto would review plans for the next phase of the high-speed train project, which aims to connect Jakarta and Surabaya in East Java. Originally initiated by the Joko Widodo administration, the review will assess feasibility and funding. According to Suntana, President Subianto has emphasized avoiding ''lighthouse projects'' during his term to minimize the financial burden on the state.
