Polish Border Guards at the military checkpoint check ID’s of drivers who wish to enter the a security zone by the Belarusian border near Kuznica, Poland on December 15, 2021. Polish government annonced no entry zone by Polish-Bielarus border due to an infaux of immigrants, mainly from the Middle East. The border between Belarus and Poland is also the border of the European Union. Poland accuses the Lukashenko regime of orchestrating the transit of thousands of migrants from the Middle East to put pressure on the EU. Due to the crisis the EU proposed new border laws which jeopardise itd free movement. Polish army is accused of refusing access to asylum procedures, medical help and food, and pushing the migrant back to Bielarus.

Environmental activists face aggressive drivers who carry wood during their protest against deforestation on a dust road which enters Turnicki forest on July 28, 2021 near Arlamow, Carpathian mountains, south-eastern Poland. The activists lock themselves in metal tubes and lie on the road to stop trucks carrying wood. The Wild Carpathian Initiative continues its occupational protest against deforestation of the Turnicki area of Carpathian mountains. The group have been blocking entrances to strategic paths of cutting crews since the end of April when the National Forest resumed large-scale forest cuts under the Forest Management Plan. Activists argue that this area should not operate under the Plan but rather become a National Park. The activists base their argument on the age of the forest (some trees are 300 years old) and the biodiversity only possible to maintain in a naturally managed environment. The area is a home to wildlife species, such as bear, wolf, boar or deer as well as rare plants.

Taxi drivers are seen gathered in front of the Ministry of Economic affairs on their second day of protests on April 9, 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. Several hundred taxi drivers from across the country are in Warsaw to protest against what they see is unfair comeptition from ride sharing services such as Uber. Union representatives want the government to adjust legislation to the effect that ride sharing services are not exempt from tariffs and taxes applied to regular taxi services.
