They give commands to get out of the tub, to show his hands, and then they realize that he is armed with a knife and then they give him numerous commands to drop the knife,'' says NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey. The sergeant tries to deploy his taser, but the taser does not work. That is when the suspect comes out of the bathroom with a knife and almost attempts to stab the sergeant. Police officials say at least three officers discharge their firearms, striking Baptiste. A makeshift memorial is set up where the fatal shooting takes place as NYPD guards the crime scene with a police presence and crime scene tape.

Aparna Kumar, IPS, DIG ITBP Northern Frontier, with the Flag of ITBP from the Summit of Mount Denali (20,310 ft), Alaska. She finally made it to the Top of this challenging and treacherous Peak on her onerous third attempt, and with this also completed the "Seven Summits" Challenge. She was immensely relieved and thanked the Mountain God to allow her reach Summit in fair weather almost 10days before scheduled, and heed to the Prayers of all her family, friends and well wishers. She's now the first ever Civil servant and IPS Officer from India to complete the Seven Summits Challenge. She's is the Fourth Indian Women and 10th ever Indian in History to reach the goal of Seven Summits!!! What a Proud moment for ITBP, Indian Police and U.P. Police and inspirational journey for Millions of Women across India.
