Two young people stroll along the quay at sunset by the sea in Giovinazzo, Italy, on July 31, 2025. Traditionally, July and August are the vacation months for Italians, but now the trend changes. This also happens in Puglia and Salento, according to industry operators, who say that the initial assessment of this summer is positive, thanks mainly to the presence of foreigners. Travelers are increasingly aware and look for an authentic experience, and Salento and Puglia respond to these demands.

A woman holds a cardboard sign reading 'France, for them, isn't holidays but their single chance'. The collective RESF (Reseau Education Sans Frontieres, or 'Education Network Without Borders'), along with trade unions (CGT and SUD) and the Human Rights League, organizes a gathering in front of the Prefecture of Occitania in Toulouse, France, on February 12, 2025, to alert passers-by and the Prefet about the difficult situation of children whose parents have no papers. They state that French laws make school mandatory regardless of the child's situation, as does the CEDH (European Convention of Human Rights). They collect signatures to present petitions to the Prefet, asking for these children to stay in France. RESF is a collective that includes several parents' associations such as FCPE, associations, unions (SUD, CGT), and NGOs (LDH, Human Rights League).

Members of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) are seen tagging horseshoe crabs with tracking devices as part of their research in the Inchudi area, on the outskirts of Chandipur Beach along the eastern Indian coast of the Bay of Bengal, in Balasore, more than 200 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital of the eastern Indian state of Odisha. Local fishermen have historically protected the horseshoe crabs by not consuming them, but wildlife officials are now conducting research and implementing protection measures for this species. The blood of these crabs is vital for medical purposes, as it is used in the production of vaccines and cancer-preventive medicines in European countries.
