According to the World Health Organization Global Platform on Air Quality & Health, the Philippines' annual pollution level averages to 22 micrograms of particles per cubic meter of air (µg/m3), 2.2 times higher than the WHO guideline of 10 µg/m3. The World Health Organization, in collaboration with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition and the Government of Norway, launched the BreathLife campaign which aims to to raise awareness about the health risks of short-lived climate pollutants, which contribute significantly to global warming and air pollution.
