An elderly rural woman lies on the ground at a drinking water point in the isolated rural area of Chrichira in Kairouan, Tunisia, on May 8, 2024. Because the men of the village trust her, she accompanies women who fear the excessive jealousy of their husbands and their reaction if they return home late after filling their plastic cans with water. As they don't have access to drinking water at home, rural women from Chrichira have the arduous task of fetching water from the water point in the middle of nowhere.
