Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, speaks during the official inauguration of the strategic Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet railway line and passenger service on February 1, 2026, in Bechar, southwest of Algiers. The Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet railway line is a 950 km mining and commercial megaproject in Algeria, aimed at transporting iron ore from Gara Djebilet to the north. This structuring infrastructure, managed by the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Implementation (ANESRIF), transports 50 million tons of ore annually and boosts the regional economy with long-distance trains and passenger services.

Brothers Yahya and Akram Akhzeiq set up a charging point using solar-energy panels placed on the exterior of the vehicle's hull, which sits under the concrete of a destroyed building.
