Posters on Paulista Avenue in São Paulo say that election without Lula is fraud. Pressed by the statement that former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva can hardly be a candidate for president, the PT works with a C plan for the 2018 elections: the boycott. In this case, in addition to not disputing the Presidency, one of the largest Brazilian parties would not launch candidates to the Senate or the Chamber of Deputies, and would go to an international race to promote what it considers to be another crack in the country's democracy. The former president already has a conviction in the first instance under the Lava Jato operation - in the process he is accused of receiving a triplet from the construction company OAS as a form of kickback, which Lula denies - and has seen his legal and political situation complicate with the confession of the first-rate ally and former Finance Minister Antonio Palocci. If Judge Sergio Moro's ruling is upheld on appeal - which even the most optimistic petistas believe will happen - Lula's candidacy will be barred by the Clean Sheet Act.
