Hungry animals usually smell food in plastic containers and bags; if they accidentally manage to eat the plastic (non-biodegradable waste) can also cause intestinal blockages and can become fatal for that animal. Very recently India imposed a ban on many single-use plastics in a bid to tackle waste choking rivers and poisoning wildlife.
