The Iberian imperial eagle, or Adalbert's eagle (Aquila adalberti), occurs in central and southwest Spain and adjacent areas of Portugal, in the Iberian Peninsula. Its stronghold is in the dehesa woodlands of central and southwest Spain, such as in Extremadura, Ciudad Real, and areas in the north of Huelva and Seville's Sierra Norte. The Iberian imperial eagle is a resident species. This eagle is classified as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
