On Wednesday, October 16, the Commission for Human Rights of the State of Zulia (Codhez) announced the results of the preliminary report of the ''Food Security Survey in Maracaibo Venezuela 2019''. The non-governmental organization replicated the study carried out in 2018 that takes as reference the Latin American and Caribbean Food Security Scale (ELCSA). This year, the results demonstrate the impoverishment of the population, and the difficulty, increasingly accentuated, of accessing food, both because of its scarcity and its high cost.The survey reported that 6 out of 10 households state that the high cost of food affects their accessibility.
