5th Anniversary Of The Takeover Of The National Institute Of Indigenous Peoples (INPI) In Mexico / 533 Years Of Indigenous Resistance / Columbus Day
13 October 2025

13 October 2025
Members of the displaced Otomi Indigenous Community residing in Mexico City, supporters of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, and various social organizations hold a political and cultural event at the ''Samir Flores Soberanes'' House of Indigenous Peoples and Communities (ya nghu ya jhoy) in Mexico City, on October 12, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the struggle and resistance to the takeover of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples in Coyoacan, renamed the ''Samir Flores Soberanes'' House of Indigenous Peoples and Communities (ya nghu ya jhoy). The community claims that the takeover of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples takes place five years ago as an act of repudiation of the paramilitary attacks and counterinsurgency war against the National Liberation Army (EZLN) and the Zapatista communities, the dispossession of their lands for megaprojects, as well as against the peoples and communities belonging to the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council. During this event, they reportedly denounce that, just as they have for 533 years, they continue to face discrimination, racism, contempt, murder, displacement, and genocide of their indigenous peoples and communities.

Toulouse: Blockade And Protest For The September 10th 'Bloquons Tous' Call
11 September 2025

11 September 2025
In front of the Social Security building in Toulouse, France, on September 10, 2025, a placard reads 'Lecornu? Contempt continues'. Dozens of thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything). In Toulouse, as in other towns, the movement 'Bloquons tout' launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks. It launches against Macron's policies: downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, increasing the Defense budget and Interior Ministry, and his choice of conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people who blockade everywhere in France on September 10. Riot police receive orders to show no tolerance towards blockades and use volleys of tear gas canisters. After blockading, people come to protest and scuffle with riot police.
