In the evening at approximately 10:42 PM, police respond to an assault in progress in the vicinity of 101 Street and Liberty Boulevard and find a 23-year-old man lying in the street with severe trauma to the body. EMS responds and transports the man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he is pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is withheld pending proper family notification.
