The Revenue Commissioners customs cutter, RCC Faire, seen in Dun Laoghaire harbour, Dublin, during Level 5 Covid-19 lockdown. Ireland has the highest Covid-19 infection rate in the world after more than 45,700 cases were recorded in the State last week. This evening, the Department of Health reported 4,929 new Covid-19 cases and 8 deaths for the Republic of Ireland. A record number of 1,582 Covid-19 patients were in hospital.
